This ring has an oval copper concave pod mimicking the beautiful Mexican fire opal set on the opposite side. This opal has translucent layers under the deep burnt oranges and reds of the opal in the matrix. It Is hard to photograph, but so gorgeous to the naked eye! This ring belongs to the River Songs Collection. All hand-fabricated pieces in Sterling Silver and copper, stones I picked myself, and elements we see alongside rivers.
Mexican Fire Opal was known to the Aztecs by the name Vitzitziltecpa, which means hummingbird stone, due to its similarity to the bright iridescent colors of the bird’s plumage. Other options available (see last pictures)
Underneath the stone, I put a little intention out to the universe that can eventually empower the wearer.
